Library Loot: September 1 -7

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted alternatively by Marg and Claire that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky (at Claire's this week) any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

Because I love his twitter: @shitmydadsays

Read rave reviews from The Book Smugglers and Kmont!

Nope I hadn't seen this yet. Didn't wanna pay to see a more elaborate version of Ferngully (or Dances with Wolves, or Pocahontas, etc.). I did end up enjoying it. Especially with Sam Worthington. I love him!

  1. I thought I Now Pronounce You Someone Else was too cute! I can't wait to see what you thought of it.

  2. Wena, I thought you reviewed it and I was going to link to your review but I couldn't find it. Am I losing my mind or did I see it on another blog?!

  3. I brought The Name of the Wind home a while back but unfortunately it went back unread. One day I'll get to it. Hope you enjoy your loot.

  4. I love the title "I Now Pronounce You Someone Else." So catchy! I'll have to check that one out, too.

I have had The Name of the Wind on my list of books to loot from the library for the same reasons as you... but can't get up the nerve yet. It's a big one, right?

Oh! You mean I'm not the only one who hasn't seen Avatar?! WOW! LOL! We plan on renting it soon, too.

    Enjoy your loot!

  5. @Cat that happens to me fairly regularly too. I get something then have to return in unread to avoid fines. I generally check them out again at a later date though!

@Christine I didnt' have much interest in I Now Pronounce You Someone Else but saw several good reviews for it so when I saw it at the library I figured, Why not?! Yes, The Name of the Wind is quite a tome! Not sure I'll get to it though! Another Avatar virgin! It was fairly entertaining. Can't believe it's like the biggest grossing movie of all time though...

  6. Oh no, I just finished it over the weekend. I haven't even started my review. I'm still working on my Mockingjay review.

  7. HAha then I'm def losing my mind. It was someone I've followed since my Biblioharlot's Bookshelf days b/c I thought oh if they liked it I have to get it! That's going to bug me now.... :) Glad to hear you liked it too though! Mockingjay is tough to review huh?! :D If you wanna discuss it just shoot me an email!

  8. Good to know about Avatar. It's on my Netflix queue for the same reason. I'll see it at some point! Enjoy your loot.

  9. Interesting loot this week! I know I've seen some positive reviews of I Now Pronounce You Someone Else, though for the life of me I can't remember where. Hope you enjoy it!

  10. Good haul! Does your library charge for dvd or blu-ray loans? Because mine does. So I never get movies from my library.

  11. Baybee, you should check out his twitter if you haven''s hilarious! I can't wait to read the book!

Ames, No they don't charge for DVDs (they don't carry blu-ray yet) but the fines are much steeper for DVDs so I've got to keep on top of it. One time I had to pay $8 in fines on ONE DVD. :(

  12. Oooh! You got Name of the Wind!?! That book is amazing. I've been waiting for the second one to come out for a long time. I still don't know when it's scheduled to be here. Guess I need to look that up.

    Enjoy your reading!

  13. I've heard good things about Sh*t My Dad Says. I watched Avatar with my family a few weeks ago, and we all enjoyed it.

    Happy reading and viewing!
